Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods

- operational knowledge of kitchen equipment
- willingness to work evening shifts including weekends
- high school diploma or equivalent
- compliance with all hotel policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Prior kitchen or food service experience
- familiarity with basic cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, frying
- experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to follow recipes and plating guidelines
- experience with kitchen equipment such as knives, ovens, grills
- teamwork and communication skills in a kitchen setting
- culinary school certificate or associate degree beneficial but not required
- food handlers' permit or certification preferred
- on-the-job training or apprenticeship under a head chef is a valuable advantage
Job Duties
- Complete various assigned production and preparation tasks
- ensure that all production equipment is working and report any problems immediately to the supervisor
- refer any guest problems or complaints to the Executive Chef
- prepare and arrange food according to standardized recipes
- continually update knowledge of hotel recipes, food preparation, and presentation
- store and handle food properly by following HACCP procedures
- report and document any observed safety hazards, conditions, or unsafe practices to management immediately
- coordinate activities to ensure efficient service and kitchen operations
- maintain high health standards in the cleaning of work areas and equipment
- ensure work areas are properly cleaned and sanitized at the beginning, during, and at the end of the shift
- work closely with the Sous Chef to create new menu items for the cook-to-order line
- date and label prepared products for rotation
- train staff members as directed
- requisition food products from the storeroom
- follow proper check handling and food issuing procedures
