Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment beneficial but not required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to lift and transport cases up to 50 pounds up to 20 times per day
  • Ability to stand, bend and stoop for extended periods
  • Adequate vision to discern cleanliness and operate a touchscreen
  • Ability to follow rules and safety procedures consistently
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • A positive attitude and desire to learn and grow
  • Able to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on high and low shelves
  • Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required
  • Capable of using knives, slicing equipment and other food preparation equipment
  • Mobility required during the entire shift
  • Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others

Job Duties

  • Prepare menu items according to Applebee's recipes, plate presentations and specifications
  • Complete all assigned prep work
  • Set up workstation according to station diagram
  • Practice sanitary and safe food handling at all times
  • Clean and sanitize the work area before, during and after shift
  • Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen team members
