Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years full-service restaurant kitchen experience
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to work nights
- Strong understanding of cooking methods and procedures
- Strong knife handling skills
- Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
- Ability to read and follow cooking directions and instructions
- Ability to remain calm in fast-paced environment
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Organized and self-motivated
- Team player
- Ability to stand, bend, stretch, lift and carry up to 50lbs
Job Qualifications
- 1-3 years full-service restaurant kitchen experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Culinary degree preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
- Must be able to work nights
- Must possess strong understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills
- Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
- Ability to read and follow cooking directions and other instructions pertaining to the position
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Must be organized with a self-starter and motivated work ethic
- Must be a team player
- Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, lift, and carry heavy materials up to 50lbs
Job Duties
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment
- Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Know and comply consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
- Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saute burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment
- Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sauteing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
- Handle, store and rotate all products properly
- Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
- Assist other areas in the Back of the House when needed
- Close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
- Assist others in closing the kitchen
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty
