- previous cooking experience in a restaurant or catering environment
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to stand for long periods
- ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- willingness to follow kitchen safety rules
- excellent communication skills
Job Qualifications
- previous experience as a cook in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred
- familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities and fine dining standards is a plus
- strong skills in food preparation, including knowledge of various cooking techniques and equipment
- ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated
- excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal service during events
- ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision
- ability to remain stationary at assigned post for extended periods of time
- work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish
Job Duties
- prepare and cook menu items for banquets and special events, ensuring quality and presentation meet our high standards
- collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and execute menus for various events, accommodating dietary restrictions as needed
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies as necessary
- utilize proper knife skills for food preparation, ensuring efficiency and safety during meal prep
- participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and kitchen protocols
- work effectively under pressure during busy service periods while maintaining attention to detail
