Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • current Food Handler's Permit
  • state sanitation certificate
  • 3-4 years of related food service and cooking experience preferred
  • knowledge of kitchen equipment operation
  • knife skills at intermediate to advanced level
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • ability to read and follow recipes independently
  • ability to use basic computer functions
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to perform stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing

Job Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of related and advanced food service and cooking experience desired

  • extensive knowledge of kitchen environment and food preparation
  • effective verbal and written communication skills in English

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook foods to order that require short to mid-level preparation time
  • prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte station and may operate a grill station
  • prepare food according to federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • read food orders and receive verbal instructions to prepare and cook food accordingly
  • provide the highest quality of service to customers
  • follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving a variety of food items
  • operate kitchen equipment to measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, shred, and trim ingredients
  • taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records for planning
  • attend allergy and foodborne illness training and apply food safety principles
  • receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs and supplies, prepare meals for special diets
  • take and record temperatures and correct discrepancies
  • clean and sanitize workstations and equipment
  • assist with set ups and clean up serving lines
  • properly record, label, and store food items
  • comply with safety and risk management policies
  • participate in safety meetings and training programs
