Job Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during shifts, often in fast-paced or busy environments
- Capability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as luggage, equipment, or cleaning supplies, typically weighing up to 50 pounds or more
- Skill in handling a variety of tasks, such as cleaning, carrying items, or assisting guests with luggage
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and reach in order to perform various tasks throughout the facility
- Good hand-eye coordination necessary for tasks like chopping, slicing, plating, and working with hot or sharp kitchen tools safely
- Comfort working in a hot environment, around stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers for extended periods
- Ability to work quickly and stay focused during high-volume service
- Ability to monitor food quality, kitchen safety, and communicate with fellow kitchen staff effectively
Job Qualifications
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry's best practices
- Culinary school diploma
Job Duties
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
