Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of restaurant experience or willingness to train
- ability to continuously stand or walk
- ability to bend, climb stairs, and lift frequently
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- ability to squat occasionally
- willingness to work in a kitchen environment with temperatures ranging from 32 to 425 degrees
- ability to work in noisy and potentially slippery kitchen environment
- availability Sunday through Tuesday
- enthusiasm for learning about cider and teamwork
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- knowledge of and ability to prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals
- knowledge of proper nutrition, sanitation, and safety laws and standards
Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating ovens, broilers, and grills
- check freshness of food and ingredients by monitoring quality and rotating stock
- turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
- season and cook food according to recipes or judgment
- bake, roast, broil, fry, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- portion, arrange, and garnish food and serve to servers, bartenders, or patrons
- observe and test foods for sufficient cooking by tasting, smelling, or piercing
- wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables
- substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
- keep records and accounts
