Job Duties

  • Understand menu and techniques required to execute dishes properly
  • report to work on time and ready for scheduled shift
  • work as part of a team focused on a common goal
  • possess and bring proper tools such as microplanes, knives, honing steel, tongs, spatula, saucing and plating spoons
  • taste and season food properly regardless of dish simplicity
  • work with different forms of heat and cooking methods
  • receive and apply criticism positively from colleagues
  • use various proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, dry goods, spices, vinegars
  • actively learn through inquiry
  • keep clean and organized workstation before, during, and after service
  • know station setup and pars to assist sous chefs in ordering and prepping lists for next day
  • identify product quality and freshness
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
