Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 1 year experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution
- ability to understand and follow instructions in English
- ability to perform simple arithmetic
- knowledge of food safety practices
- ability to use kitchen equipment safely and properly
- ability to plan and organize work
- reliable and punctual
- able to work shifts from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- physical ability to stand for extended periods
- willing to comply with personal hygiene and dress code standards
Job Qualifications

- scratch cooking experience
- some knowledge of nutrition and diet
Job Duties
- Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces
- boils, braises, and roasts items as per standardized recipes
- prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed, and baked items as per standardized recipes
- prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders
- plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours to preserve excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food
- determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and ensures supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production
- maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition
- maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code
- attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
- performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
