Job Requirements

  • previous experience in food preparation required
  • experience in the restaurant industry is a plus
  • bilingual preferred
  • a high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • must be 18 years of age

Job Duties

  • prepares all recipes in compliance with portion sizes quality standards department rules policies and procedures
  • prepares a variety of cold and hot food items using standardized recipes
  • prepares specially requested items
  • plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours preserving quality temperature and appearance
  • uses knives tools utensils and equipment to portion cut slice broil roast carve skewer garnish maintain holding temperature grill or produce food on the kitchen line
  • complies with sanitation hygiene and health standards following food preparation and handling guidelines
  • keeps head kitchen chef informed of inventories reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to the manager reports unsanitary equipment storage work areas or products to the head kitchen chef communicates with lead line cook to facilitate customer orders within required ticket times keeps work area neat organized and clean
  • performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
