Job Requirements

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • two years cooking experience preferred
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations
  • good knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking
  • knowledge of sanitation standards
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes and portion sizes
  • basic English language skills
  • ability to follow written instructions
  • ability to operate beverage equipment
  • physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs
  • manual dexterity for kitchen equipment
  • capability to work in extreme temperatures and confined spaces
  • willingness to perform twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling
  • maintain a neat and clean appearance

Job Qualifications

  • Current Food Handler Card
  • two years cooking experience preferred, broiler cooking preferred
  • knowledge of food and beverage preparations
  • understanding of service standards and guest relations
  • good working knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking fundamentals
  • knowledge of sanitation standards
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
  • basic mathematical skills
  • basic English language proficiency
  • ability to follow written product labeling instructions
  • ability to operate beverage equipment

Job Duties

  • Prepares daily preparation lists for production
  • reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
  • prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications
  • visually inspects, selects, and uses only high-quality food items
  • checks and controls proper storage of products and portion control
  • keeps refrigeration, equipment, and work areas clean and compliant with health regulations
  • maintains logs for cooling, heating, and temperature
  • adheres to company policies and safety procedures
  • utilizes protective equipment and reports unsafe conditions
  • provides a safe work environment
  • maintains neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • assists other kitchen personnel as needed
