Job Requirements

- A few months to one year of related experience in cooking or food preparation
- ServSafe certification or equivalent
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions carefully
- Capability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks
- Strong communication skills to work effectively in a team environment

Job Duties
- Prepares bakes and cooks meats and pastries
- Cleans and maintains kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils
- Inspects and cleans food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensures food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating ovens and grills
- Checks freshness and quality of food ingredients and rotates stock
- Seasons and cooks food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
- Bakes various items
- Tests cooked foods for doneness
- Washes peels cuts and seeds fruits and vegetables
- Carves and trims meats for service
- Washes dishes glassware flatware pots and pans by hand or dishwasher
- Maintains kitchen work areas equipment and utensils
- Places clean dishes utensils and cooking equipment in storage
- Sorts and removes trash and places it in designated pickup areas
- Cleans garbage cans
- Sweeps or scrubs floors
