Job Requirements

  • ability to grasp, lift, or carry goods weighing up to 100 lbs
  • sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment like knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers
  • ability to work in extreme temperature ranges
  • ability to work in confined spaces
  • frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling
  • basic food handling certification required
  • at least 2 years of cooking experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • hold a current Food Handler Card
  • minimum of 2 years cooking experience preferred
  • good working knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking fundamentals
  • knowledge of food and beverage preparations and service standards
  • understanding of guest relations and etiquette
  • understanding of accepted sanitation standards
  • knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles
  • basic mathematical skills for recipes and portion control
  • basic English language skills to communicate and understand instructions
  • ability to comprehend written product labeling instructions
  • ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers

Job Duties

  • prepares daily preparation lists for production
  • reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
  • prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest check specifications
  • visually inspects and selects food items of the highest standard
  • checks and controls proper storage and portion control of products
  • keeps all refrigeration, equipment, storage and work areas clean and operational to health department standards
  • maintains logs for cooling, heating, and temperature
  • adheres to all company policies and safety procedures
  • reports unsafe conditions or incidents to management
  • provides a safe work environment by following safety and security rules
  • maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • performs related duties as requested by management
  • assists other kitchen personnel when needed
