Job Requirements
- ability to grasp, lift, or carry goods weighing up to 100 lbs
- sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment like knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers
- ability to work in extreme temperature ranges
- ability to work in confined spaces
- frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling
- basic food handling certification required
- at least 2 years of cooking experience preferred
Job Qualifications
- hold a current Food Handler Card
- minimum of 2 years cooking experience preferred
- good working knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking fundamentals
- knowledge of food and beverage preparations and service standards
- understanding of guest relations and etiquette
- understanding of accepted sanitation standards
- knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles
- basic mathematical skills for recipes and portion control
- basic English language skills to communicate and understand instructions
- ability to comprehend written product labeling instructions
- ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers
Job Duties
- prepares daily preparation lists for production
- reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
- prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest check specifications
- visually inspects and selects food items of the highest standard
- checks and controls proper storage and portion control of products
- keeps all refrigeration, equipment, storage and work areas clean and operational to health department standards
- maintains logs for cooling, heating, and temperature
- adheres to all company policies and safety procedures
- reports unsafe conditions or incidents to management
- provides a safe work environment by following safety and security rules
- maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- performs related duties as requested by management
- assists other kitchen personnel when needed
