Job Requirements
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform essential functions in varying temperature ranges
- Ability to follow established kitchen safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and residents
- Must possess sufficient manual dexterity and physical stamina
- High School Diploma or GED required
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Culinary Arts or Culinary Apprenticeship preferred
- One or more years of experience cooking in a fast-paced, cook-to-order kitchen preferred
- Experience with scratch cooking preferred
- Experience with sauté and/or broiler preferred
- Ability to read, write, and understand English to communicate effectively and follow recipes
- Manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment and utensils
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, and pull continuously
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items including meats, vegetables, potatoes, breads, and desserts
- Maintain quality control over all food items produced in the assigned station
- Follow established recipes and cooking methods to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and the Executive Chef to uphold community standards and procedures
- Model The Sterling Touch behavior by providing professional, friendly, courteous, and timely service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
- Support inventory and requisition processes as directed by management
