Job Requirements
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends
- Must have basic cooking technic knowledge including braising, sautéing, roasting, grilling, recipe adherence, and portion control
- Basic knife handling skills
- Ability to maintain sanitation and hygiene standards
- Must practice clean as you go
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to kneel, stoop, bend, twist, and stand for long periods
- Must report to work on time with a clean uniform
- Must obtain Serve Safe Food Handlers certificate within 90 days
- Must be able to work at a rapid, high-paced rate
- Must have knowledge of ware washing and use of chemicals
- Must comply with health department regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Degree from a culinary institute preferred
- Serv-safe certified
- 1-3 years of similar or equivalent experience
- Basic cooking experience in a restaurant, hotel, resort, or club
- Knowledge of culinary and dining trends
- Ability to follow instructions and carry out supervision
- Strong communication skills
- Organizational skills with attention to detail
- Problem-solving skills
- Team player with ability to work independently
Job Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Train co-workers as needed
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food safety and sanitation standards
- Prepare menu items that reflect the Latitude Margaritaville lifestyle
- Participate in catering food and beverage functions
- Manage inventory and production efficiently
- Maintain high energy and professionalism throughout service
- Adhere to hygiene and uniform standards
- Work any kitchen position as needed
