Job Requirements

  • Meet state and local requirements for Food Handler’s certification
  • Certification must be obtained by first day or within location-specific timeline
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach objects on shelves at various heights
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to respond to guest needs with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to have fun and maintain a positive attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous cooking experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
  • Food handler’s certification obtained or able to be obtained within required timeline
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and food safety standards accurately
  • Passion for quality food preparation and presentation

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • Operate the grill station cooking proteins and taco ingredients to correct temperatures
  • Manage the sauté station handling various ingredients to create flavorful dishes
  • Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes requiring steaming maintaining texture and flavor
  • Assemble and build each taco ensuring high standards and guest satisfaction
  • Prepare and cook a variety of ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work stations ensuring food safety and sanitation
  • Work closely with back-of-house team members to ensure timely and correct food preparation
  • Assist with stocking and organizing ingredients supporting kitchen operations
  • Operate with urgency to keep up with guest demand while maintaining food quality and presentation
