Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum three years of experience in a catering kitchen environment with five years preferred
- Food Handler Certification required or must be obtained
- Ability to reach bend stoop and lift up to 50 pounds
- Capacity to stand for up to eight hours
- Must be able to work variable hours including weekends holidays and shifts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-noise environment
- Must be capable of multitasking several events simultaneously
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Three years of experience in a catering kitchen environment preferred five years is ideal
- Possess or obtain DuPage County Health Department Food Handler Certification
- Knowledge of cooking procedures and kitchen equipment
- Understanding of kitchen safety rules and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and noisy kitchen environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Job Duties
- Prepare station before service including chopping vegetables butchering meat and preparing sauces
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation
- Clean kitchen stations utensils pots pans and cooking surfaces after service
- Dispose of leftover food properly return unused items to inventory or store cooked goods
- Unload delivery trucks stock inventories including pantries and refrigerators
- Follow kitchen safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist with multi-event food preparation and production
