Job Requirements

  • Some prior kitchen or culinary experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment highly preferred but not required
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and fast-paced environment
  • Reliable transportation and ability to arrive to work on time and maintain a positive attendance record
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
  • Good communication, organization, and positive interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
  • Current Food Handlers Card
  • Serve-Safe preferred

Job Duties

  • Follow Burger Lounge's vision, mission and core values to ensure employees and guests leave happier than when they arrived
  • Communicate well with others using friendly, respectful and professional language
  • Work well with all employees, respect differences, and help make others feel included and comfortable
  • Be open to feedback, learn from mistakes and take accountability for actions
  • Prepare food honoring guest requests, restrictions and modifications
  • Ensure onion rings, french fries and salads are prepared correctly and timely to maximize quality and guest satisfaction
  • Follow Burger Lounge hand-washing procedures and expectations
  • Follow proper safety procedures, use the right tools, and identify safety hazards
  • Use cut gloves properly when handling knives, cutting or slicing food items
  • Load and run dish washing machine regularly
  • Keep kitchen equipment clean and maintain kitchen cleanliness
  • Assist in deep cleaning tasks as needed
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and work areas
  • Fill sanitizer buckets to appropriate levels and label
  • Read and follow all prep lists and consistently use tablets to ensure food prep consistency
  • Complete daily prep lists within suggested timelines ensuring food meets quality standards
  • Fill out labels correctly and label products accurately
  • Comprehend Burger Lounge recipes with basic to intermediate knife skills
  • Chop cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and slice potatoes
  • Start blanching process by soaking potatoes in water
  • Prepare all sauces and ensure bottles are filled appropriately
  • Prepare all proteins according to Burger Lounge standards
  • Maintain strong comprehension of salad and fry recipes
  • Keep inventory of food and line items needed for salad and fry stations
  • Read tickets and time fryer item preparation with plating
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and operational
  • Assist with supervising food temperature and proper storage
  • Assist in receiving, verifying, and properly storing food, beverage and supplies
  • Follow FIFO inventory procedures
  • Conduct back-of-house opening and closing tasks
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
