Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull continuously
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Culinary Arts or Culinary Apprenticeship preferred
  • One or more years of experience in a fast-paced, cook to order kitchen preferred
  • One or more years of experience with scratch cooking preferred
  • Sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment and utensils proficiently
  • Ability to work continuously without extended sitting
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food items including meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread, and desserts
  • Control quality and quantity of food prepared in the station
  • Model professional, friendly, courteous behavior consistent with The Sterling Touch®
  • Work under guidance of Executive Chef following established community standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen station
  • Follow safety and sanitation guidelines strictly
  • Assist with training and communication with kitchen staff
