Job Requirements

  • Proven cooking experience including positions of restaurant line or prep cook
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests
  • Ability to work on your feet for 8 or more hours a day
  • Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basis

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic kitchen setting

Job Duties

  • Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and/or marinating
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set-up for all dishes
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly
  • Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
  • Close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
  • Assist others in closing the kitchen
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
  • Bring a positive attitude to everyday kitchen and restaurant tasks
  • Communicate with team members to maintain product on the food line
  • Communicate shortage of menu items to the Restaurant Manager immediately
  • Stock work stations according to procedural guidelines in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain appropriate portion and quality control including food handling, food safety and sanitation standards to ServeSafe requirements at all times
  • Clean, sanitize and keep food areas stocked
  • Meet all restaurant and customer service objectives
