Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler’s certification
  • Certification must be obtained by first day or within required timeline
  • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • Must be able to stand for several hours
  • Must be able to bend stretch twist or reach for objects on shelves at various heights
  • Must be able to lift push pull or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to serve guests' needs with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous cooking experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple cooking stations with skill
  • Food Handler certification required or obtained within required timeline

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • Operate the grill station cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled to perfection
  • Manage the sauté station handling various ingredients to create flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
  • Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes requiring steaming maintaining the right texture and flavor
  • Assemble and build each taco to order ensuring all meet high standards and guests' expectations
  • Prepare and cook ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards across grill, fryer, sauté, and steam stations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work station ensuring food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with back-of-house team members to ensure timely and correct food preparation
  • Assist with inventory management stocking and organizing ingredients
  • Work efficiently during busy periods maintaining quality and presentation
