Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • minimum of one year of dietary experience in a hospital or related medical facility required
  • ability to identify and solve problems effectively
  • ability to manage difficult or emotional situations with employees and facility occupants
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to follow strict dietary and hygiene policies
  • capability to perform tasks consistent with infection control standards
  • physical ability to perform job duties including routine and repetitive tasks

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets preferred for Lead Cook
  • minimum of one year of dietary experience in a hospital or related medical facility
  • supervisory experience preferred for Lead Cook

Job Duties

  • Create, prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing
  • review menus prior to preparation of food to assure accurate preparation
  • recognize and respond to dietary emergencies and report observations
  • place order deliveries for upcoming menus timely and within food budgets
  • run expo when needed
  • supervise and lead the BOH and FOH in lieu of the Convivium Director's absence
  • follow established infection control and universal precaution policies when performing daily tasks
