Job Requirements

  • Possess considerable knowledge in food preparation, presentation, and portion control
  • ability to plan, organize and direct activities in the kitchen area
  • ability to develop effective working relationships with employees and supervisors
  • ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • food handler certification
  • must provide valid documents to work in the U.S.
  • able to work different shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • able to work overtime as required
  • eligible to work in the U.S.

Job Duties

  • Coordinate all food orders between stations and food servers
  • assist in directing and correcting the presentation and portioning of food for all banquet functions
  • adhere to policies and procedures regarding sanitation and sanitary food handling
  • maintain the work area including countertops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition according to health and safety regulations
  • have thorough knowledge of menus and preparation requirements according to club standards
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas
  • prepare and display buffet food items per hotel standards
  • apply cooking techniques such as charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sautéing, braising, roasting, and par-cooking
  • recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products
  • use herbs and spices properly
  • maintain a clean and sanitary environment with proper food handling, storage, and sanitation
  • prepare food for banquets following specifications on Banquet Event Orders
  • prepare all foods following club standard recipes and chef directions
  • break down buffets and plated meals, storing food and equipment properly
  • work banquet food stations as scheduled
  • know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment
  • always practice safe work habits
  • support any kitchen position as needed
  • perform additional duties as required
