Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • must obtain certification by first day or within required timeline
  • able to stand for several hours
  • able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels
  • able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • ability to serve guests with high sense of urgency
  • ability to have fun
  • willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • strong attention to detail
  • good communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station, ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • operate the grill station, cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled to perfection
  • manage the sauté station, handling various ingredients to create dishes that are flavorful and perfectly cooked
  • operate steam equipment to prepare dishes that require steaming, maintaining the right texture and flavor
  • assemble and build each taco to order, ensuring each one meets high standards and guests' expectations
  • prepare and cook a variety of ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • maintain a clean and organized work station, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards
  • work closely with other BOH team members to ensure timely and correct food preparation
  • assist with stocking and organizing ingredients to ensure kitchen readiness
  • operate with a sense of urgency during busy periods to keep up with guest demand while maintaining quality and presentation
