Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary experience
  • Ability to work flexible and long hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Ability to withstand temperature variations
  • Knowledge of food safety and handling
  • Ability to follow standard recipes and instructions
  • Commitment to safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Culinary experience required
  • Knowledge of menus and food preparation according to hotel standards
  • Proficiency in cooking techniques including charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sauté, braising, roasting, and par-cooking
  • Knowledge of herbs and spices and their proper use
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Ability to withstand temperature variations
  • Experience working in a hotel or related food service field

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas
  • Complete necessary food and station preparation prior to opening
  • Prepare and display buffet food items according to hotel standards
  • Recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products
  • Maintain clean and sanitary environment with proper handling and storage
  • Prepare food for banquets following specifications on event orders
  • Prepare and service food for the employee cafeteria as directed by supervisor
  • Follow standardized recipes and prepare specials under supervision
  • Breakdown buffets and kitchen line, properly storing food and equipment
  • Work banquet food stations as scheduled
  • Operate and maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment
  • Practice safe work habits to avoid injury
  • Use production charts as specified by hotel standards
  • Support any kitchen position in need of assistance
  • Follow all health department and company regulations regarding food safety
  • Maintain a "Clean As You Go" policy
  • Assist in storage and rotation of food items
  • Know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment
  • Sign keys out and back in under supervision as needed
