Job Requirements

  • 8th grade education plus
  • one year of full time experience in cooking and food preparation and use of kitchen equipment
  • knowledge of safety practices
  • ability to read weights and measures
  • ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • ability to read and interpret recipes
  • ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • successful completion of a background check
  • pass specialized, title specific training upon probationary period completion

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • one year of full-time cooking and food preparation experience
  • knowledge of safety practices
  • ability to read and interpret recipes
  • ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and fractions
  • ability to cook meats, poultry, and seafood using proper methods
  • experience in high volume kitchen or food court setting
  • knowledge of various cooking methods including sautéing, grilling, deep frying, steaming

Job Duties

  • Prepare proteins, starches, soups, sauces, stocks, and gravies
  • prepare a la carte and cook-to-order items
  • operate standard kitchen equipment
  • maintain cleanliness of station, equipment, and floors
  • dispose of trash and measure food waste
  • clean kitchen and serving equipment
  • interact and improvise dishes with customers
