Job Requirements

  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Knowledge of and ability to prepare all food recipes and sub-recipes as instructed
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbal and written
  • Ability to expedite tickets accurately and timely
  • Must have knives and other small hand tools as part of the uniform
  • Proper cooling and storing practices per health department rules
  • Knowledge of proper cooking techniques including making stock, sauces, sautéing, grilling, poaching, and plating
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to follow directions in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage time effectively and work well in a team environment
  • Excellent customer relations, sales, and communication skills
  • Valid Washington State Health Card and other government-required cards
  • Desire to learn, grow, and progress in this career

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a line cook in a high-volume, upscale restaurant
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques including sautéing, grilling, poaching, and plating
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain food quality standards
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment
  • Valid Washington State Health Card or equivalent
  • Good customer service and sales skills

Job Duties

  • Performs all culinary duties and responsibilities to achieve overall success of the operation
  • Prepares food orders for guests using prescribed recipes and standards
  • Expedites tickets accurately and timely
  • Reads and understands kitchen monitors or printed tickets
  • Prepares and cooks menu items including stocks, sauces, sautéing, grilling, and poaching
  • Ensures proper cooling and storing practices according to health regulations
  • Collaborates effectively with team members to maintain a smooth kitchen operation
