Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Manual dexterity to use kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull without extended sitting
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform essential functions in varying temperature ranges

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
  • One or more years of experience cooking in a fast paced, cook to order kitchen preferred
  • Experience with scratch cooking preferred
  • Sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Manual dexterity with kitchen tools
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks continuously

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items including meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, and desserts
  • Ensure quality control and maintain portion consistency
  • Work with the Executive Chef to follow community culinary standards and procedures
  • Model professional, friendly, and courteous behavior in interactions with residents and staff
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of cooking station and kitchen equipment
  • Assist in training or guiding kitchen staff as needed
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines in food preparation and handling
