Job Requirements
- 1 year of related or supportive experience preferred
- Culinary education or equivalent experience beneficial
- Food Handler Certification if required
- Ability to maintain high standards of food hygiene and sanitation
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical capability to lift and move weights up to 100+ lbs
- Ability to perform multi-tasking under pressure
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Job Qualifications
- 1 year of previous experience in a related or supportive cooking role preferred
- Experience and proficiency in cooking including garde manger, saute, fry, and grill stations
- Ability to work at a high level of performance within all meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch
- Ability to work with minimal direction or supervision
- Food Handler Certification if applicable
- Trained in knife skills and basic kitchen equipment
- Ability to multi-task under pressure
- Flexible schedule to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, guests, and vendors
- Ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations and maintain professionalism
Job Duties
- Follow departmental policies and restaurant rules and regulations
- Report maintenance or repairs needed to the Executive Chef
- Prevent spoiling and contamination of foods by implementing proper sanitation practices and complying with health regulations
- Know and comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure smooth service
- Maintain clean and sanitary work stations including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saute burners, convection ovens, flat top ranges, and refrigeration equipment
- Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to guests
- Demonstrate, prepare, and execute each menu item according to specifications and presentation standards
- Produce food on a timely basis and be well-educated regarding the menu
- Assist in daily cleaning of pantry, cooking line, prep kitchen, dish area, stairs, walk-in, and prep area
