Job Requirements

  • 1 year of related or supportive experience preferred
  • Culinary education or equivalent experience beneficial
  • Food Handler Certification if required
  • Ability to maintain high standards of food hygiene and sanitation
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical capability to lift and move weights up to 100+ lbs
  • Ability to perform multi-tasking under pressure
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Qualifications

  • 1 year of previous experience in a related or supportive cooking role preferred
  • Experience and proficiency in cooking including garde manger, saute, fry, and grill stations
  • Ability to work at a high level of performance within all meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch
  • Ability to work with minimal direction or supervision
  • Food Handler Certification if applicable
  • Trained in knife skills and basic kitchen equipment
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure
  • Flexible schedule to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, guests, and vendors
  • Ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations and maintain professionalism

Job Duties

  • Follow departmental policies and restaurant rules and regulations
  • Report maintenance or repairs needed to the Executive Chef
  • Prevent spoiling and contamination of foods by implementing proper sanitation practices and complying with health regulations
  • Know and comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure smooth service
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work stations including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saute burners, convection ovens, flat top ranges, and refrigeration equipment
  • Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to guests
  • Demonstrate, prepare, and execute each menu item according to specifications and presentation standards
  • Produce food on a timely basis and be well-educated regarding the menu
  • Assist in daily cleaning of pantry, cooking line, prep kitchen, dish area, stairs, walk-in, and prep area
