Job Requirements

  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to consistently prepare all food recipes as instructed by the executive chef or general manager
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to follow directions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work well in a team
  • Must have knives and necessary small hand tools
  • Must hold a valid Washington State Health Card and any required government cards
  • Desire to learn and grow in the culinary field

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a line cook in an upscale restaurant
  • Knowledge of culinary techniques including making stocks, sauces, sautéing, grilling, poaching, and plating
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Strong customer relations and communication skills
  • Possession of a valid Washington State Health Card or equivalent
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Perform all culinary duties and responsibilities to achieve overall success of the operation
  • Prepare food orders for guests using prescribed recipes and standards
  • Expedite tickets accurately and timely
  • Read and understand kitchen monitors or printed tickets behind the cooks' line
  • Follow proper cooling and storing practices per health department rules
  • Maintain knives and small hand tools as part of the uniform
  • Collaborate effectively within the team in a fast-paced environment
