Job Requirements

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • have at least two years cooking experience preferred
  • basic math skills necessary to follow recipes and portion sizes
  • basic English language skills sufficient to understand and communicate with team members
  • physical ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
  • manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • ability to work in extreme temperature ranges and confined spaces
  • availability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • must adhere to company policies and safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • two years cooking experience preferred
  • broiler cooking experience preferred
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations
  • understanding of service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • good working knowledge of broiler cooking fundamentals
  • good working knowledge of sauté cooking fundamentals
  • good knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
  • knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
  • basic mathematical skills for recipes, measurements, requisitions, and portion sizes
  • basic knowledge of English sufficient for communication and comprehension of instructions
  • ability to apply written product labeling instructions safely
  • ability to operate beverage equipment like coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Prepare daily preparation lists for production
  • read and employ math skills to follow recipes
  • prepare all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications to ensure product consistency
  • visually inspect, select, and use only food items of the highest standard for menu items
  • check and control the proper storage of products and portion control, especially specific meat cuts
  • keep all refrigeration, equipment, storage, and work areas clean and compliant with health department regulations
  • maintain all logs related to cooling, heating, and temperature
  • adhere to company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security procedures and report unsafe conditions to management
  • know and implement fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilize protective equipment
  • report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management
  • maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as outlined in the team member handbook
  • perform any related duties requested by management
  • assist other kitchen personnel as needed
