Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior cooking experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or senior living environment preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen tasks
  • Willingness to work Monday through Saturday 11 am to 7:30 pm and Sundays 7 am to 3 pm
  • Must successfully complete background screening prior to employment

Job Qualifications

  • Proven cooking experience preferably in healthcare or senior living settings
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a kitchen team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with kitchen staff
  • Ensure food is plated and served in a timely manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workspace
  • Follow health and safety guidelines while preparing food
  • Assist in inventory management and ordering of kitchen supplies
  • Contribute to team efforts to meet resident satisfaction and quality standards
