Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment
  • passion for cooking
  • motivated to develop culinary skills
  • ability to work full time with flexible scheduling
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items

  • Active food handler's certification or the ability to get it

Job Duties

  • Develop knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods
  • grow skills in using knives and various kitchen equipment
  • recreate menu items for restaurant and banquets
  • develop consistency in cooking and presentation
  • minimize food waste through cross utilization
  • setup workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • prepare ingredients to use in cooking such as chopping and peeling vegetables and cutting meat
  • use standard practices in kitchen sanitization
  • store all food and other items properly
  • be responsible for the quality of ingredients
