Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar cooking position preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to comply with all safety and sanitation protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred
  • Strong hand-eye coordination, multitasking, and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with moderate to high noise levels and high temperatures
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare dishes based on established recipes and portion sizes
  • Handle tasks such as grilling, frying, broiling, and baking
  • Set up, stock, and maintain your workstation, ensuring it is clean, organized, and following safety measures
  • Ensure all ingredients, prepped items and prepared dishes meet company presentation and taste standards
  • Assist in expediting orders as needed
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation practices including washing, peeling, cutting, and preparing ingredients as well as all DCHD protocols
  • Work with other Head Chef, Kitchen Management and kitchen staff to improve service, performance, and safety
  • Help with additional duties as needed
  • Be aware of any safety concerns and report them promptly
  • Wear safety gear including slip-resistant shoes
  • Maintain superior attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays are preferred
