Job Requirements
- high school diploma or ged
- culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
- one or more years experience cooking in a fast-paced kitchen preferred
- one or more years experience with scratch cooking preferred
- sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
- ability to read, write, and understand english
- sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment
- ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and work continuously
- ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to perform essential functions in varying temperature ranges
Job Qualifications

- sufficient manual dexterity to use all kitchen utensils and equipment
- ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, reach, push, pull, and work without extended sitting
- ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to perform essential functions in varying temperatures
Job Duties
- prepare and cook high-quality food items such as meats, vegetables, potatoes, breads, and desserts
- maintain control over the quality and quantity of food prepared
- model professional, friendly, courteous, and timely behavior consistent with The Sterling Touch®
- work under the guidance of the Executive Chef in accordance with community standards and practices
- ensure a high level of satisfaction for residents and their guests through exceptional food production
- operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organized work environment
