Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training
  • Safe Serve/Food Handler's Card
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in a high pace and hot environment
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Willingness to follow written and verbal instructions

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to use cooking metrics and conversion methods
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out one- or two-step instructions
  • Familiarity with standardized cooking procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently under supervision
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food consistent with hotel standards and quality
  • Assist with breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and room service
  • Prepare all ingredients before service begins
  • Operate station efficiently and safely
  • Practice serve-safe methods in food preparation, cooking, holding, and storage
  • Produce excellent quality dishes
  • Follow opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and food sanitation standards
  • Manage guest orders in a friendly and timely manner
  • Visually inspect all food before serving
  • Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items
  • Use proper knife skills
  • Maintain attendance, punctuality, and adhere to dress code
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor
