Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
  • ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • capability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 lbs
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • basic understanding of food safety regulations
  • ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Arrive promptly to make sure station is not left unattended and leave at scheduled time unless requested by a manager
  • assess prep-list to be fully stocked for service and guarantee freshness
  • keep hotel standards of quality according to supervisor's training on quality and presentation
  • handle customer orders in a timely and quality-minded manner
  • ensure items are as guest ordered and special preparations are considered
  • prioritize customer satisfaction while keeping in mind the interest of the hotel
  • clarify any unclear orders with waiter and notify supervisor
  • report questions about freshness or recipe execution to chef
  • clean station and store food properly at end of shift
  • maintain personal hygiene and use gloves when handling food
  • keep workbench sanitized and report any health concerns or equipment issues to supervisor
