Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- three years of related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- valid food handler's certificate
- ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds frequently
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- ability to write simple correspondence
- strong judgment and understanding of food and beverage laws
- willingness to work flexible hours including days, nights, and weekends
- ability to collaborate effectively with other staff
- maintain safe and sanitary workstation and kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- three years of related experience or training
- advanced knife skills and protein butchering ability
- ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence
- ability to write simple correspondence
- effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group situations
- knowledge of fractions, percentages, and ratios
- ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions
- understanding of legal, local, state, and federal laws related to the food and beverage industry
- ability to work harmoniously with others and maintain productive working relationships
- customer-focused with ability to build trust and respect
Job Duties
- follow, execute, and help plan recipes, procedures, and plate-ups related to line cooking in a timely fashion
- work towards mastery of all kitchen stations, recipes, presentations, and setups
- prepare all food served following standardized recipe and special diet requests
- ensure food production coordination to preserve quality, temperature, and appearance
- prepare soups, stocks, sauces, and cook items as per standardized recipes
- manage supplies needed for menu production ensuring timely procurement
- portion food on serving plates, add gravies, sauces, and garnish
- maintain workstation in a safe and sanitary condition, including washing pots and pans
- assist management in identifying and remedying kitchen inefficiencies
- keep refrigerators and dry good shelves clean and organized
- maintain sterile kitchen environment including proper chemical usage and equipment breakdown
