Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of culinary experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Proven record of punctuality and regular attendance
  • Capacity to work additional hours as needed
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse team
  • Commitment to maintaining food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years culinary experience
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to relate well to all residents including the emotionally upset
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the public
  • Demonstrated reliability with regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary

Job Duties

  • Perform basic culinary tasks including food preparation of hot and cold items
  • Cook and cool food items adhering to food safety requirements
  • Review menu cycle, follow recipes, and test product by taste, temperature, portion control and plate appeal
  • Properly receive and store departmental supplies
  • Maintain and document food safety logs such as heating, reheating, FIFO, cooling and walk-in logs
  • Complete production, prep and pull logs along with daily, weekly mis-en-place
  • Comply with departmental policies including HACCP, safety regulations and CARF/CCAC guidelines
  • Perform job functions consistent with the mission and goals of Loomis Communities
  • Demonstrate respect and attention to diversity in residents, personnel and stakeholders
  • Provide efficient, professional and responsive customer service including waiting tables and processing requests
  • Operate dishwashing machine and clean and sanitize work area
  • Work cooperatively within a team and deliver on resident and guest activities
  • Promote resident rights and independence
