Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years culinary experience
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to follow instructions
  • Proficient in English communication
  • Ability to interact well with residents including emotionally upset individuals
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel and the public
  • Reliable work attendance
  • Willingness to work extra hours as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of culinary experience
  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • Strong interpersonal skills to relate well with residents including those who are emotionally upset
  • Tactful in dealing with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Willingness to work beyond normal hours when necessary

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook hot and cold food items according to menu cycles and recipes
  • Adhere to established food safety requirements including heating/reheating, cooling, FIFO, and storage logs
  • Maintain proper receiving and storage of kitchen supplies
  • Complete production, prep, and pull logs
  • Follow departmental policies such as HACCP and CARF/CCAC guidelines
  • Provide professional and responsive customer service including waiting on tables and processing requests
  • Clean and sanitize work area, operate dishwashing machine
  • Work cooperatively within a team and participate in resident and guest functions
  • Promote resident rights and independence through assigned tasks
