Job Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand, kneel, and crouch more than 50 percent of the time
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to verbally communicate with employees at all times
  • Experience working in high-end restaurant kitchens for 2 or more years
  • Culinary degree or equivalent apprenticeship

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree from an accredited school preferred or completion of an apprenticeship program
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in high-end restaurant environments
  • Thorough knowledge of food service sanitation standards
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment use and operation
  • Experience with grilling and sautéing
  • Excellent knife skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant standards and recipes
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, front-of-house staff, and management
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Follow food service sanitation standards
  • Utilize kitchen equipment properly and safely
  • Exhibit excellent knife skills
  • Taste and respond to visual and aural cues while cooking
