Job Description
The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) operates the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove (WVHUG), a long-term care facility dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare and support to elderly or disabled veterans and their spouses. Located in Racine County, WVHUG serves veterans in southeastern Wisconsin areas including Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha. Job Requirements
- wisconsin residency required for LTE appointments
- criminal background check prior to employment offer
- pass pre-employment tuberculosis skin test
- legally authorized to work in the United States
- ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor including moving heavy equipment and supplies
- availability for 24 to 40 hours a week in a limited term employment role
Job Qualifications
- preparing a product including measuring, counting quantity, ensuring quality, stocking, labeling and dating, prepping supplies, using work tools, following production schedules
- reading and following posted instructions
- performing food service functions
- following sanitation standards and safety controls
- communicating as a member of a team
Job Duties
- interpret diet orders to serve standard and modified meals on tray lines
- assist with quantity food production
- perform breakfast or grill cooking
- transport food carts between kitchen and servery areas
- participate in catered functions
- move carts weighing an average of 500 pounds safely through hallways
- maintain clean and safe food service areas
