Job Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Indiana Paramedic license (EMT-P) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or its equivalent to be obtained within initial probation
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or its equivalency to be obtained within probation
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 certification to be obtained within probation
  • Minimum of 1 year ALS Paramedic experience preferred
  • Ability to make independent clinical and operational decisions
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record report

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Indiana Paramedic license (EMT-P) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or equivalent to be obtained during probation
  • Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or equivalent during probation
  • Completion of NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 during probation
  • Minimum of 1 year ALS Paramedic experience preferred
  • Ability to make independent clinical and operational decisions in challenging environments

Job Duties

  • Provide care, transport, and treatment for ill/injured patients in emergency and non-emergency scenarios
  • Relay and receive information regarding patient condition effectively
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements, departmental policies, and hospital guidelines
  • Operate within the scope of practice defined by Indiana state law
  • Drive ambulance safely to and from referral hospitals
  • Obtain consents and authorizations from patients or legal guardians as necessary
  • Record ambulance run times and assist in processing billing and daily reports
