Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Indiana EMT-P paramedic license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent within probation
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or equivalent within probation
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 certifications within probation
  • Minimum 1 year ALS paramedic experience preferred
  • Ability to make independent clinical and operational decisions

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Indiana EMT-P paramedic license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent to be obtained within initial probationary period
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or equivalent to be obtained within initial probationary period
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 certifications to be obtained within initial probationary period
  • Minimum of 1 year ALS paramedic experience preferred
  • Ability to make independent clinical and operational decisions in a challenging environment

Job Duties

  • Provide emergency and non-emergency care to ill or injured patients
  • Transport patients safely to medical facilities
  • Relay and receive patient condition information accurately
  • Comply with all regulatory, departmental, safety, and hospital policies
  • Operate within the paramedic scope as defined by Indiana state law
  • Drive ambulance to and from referral hospitals
  • Obtain consents and authorizations from patients or legal guardians
  • Record time of ambulance runs
  • Process billing and daily reports
