Job Requirements
- minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- indiana paramedic license
- ability to obtain surrounding state license within six months of hire (illinois)
- certified flight paramedic advanced certification required within 18 months of hire
- basic life support certification required upon hire
- advanced cardiac life support certification required upon hire
- pediatric advanced life support or its equivalency to be obtained within initial probationary period
- neonatal resuscitation program or its equivalency to be obtained within initial probationary period
- trauma certification including ITLS or PHTLS to be obtained within six months of hire
- emergency vehicle operator course or its equivalency must be obtained within initial probationary period
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 to be obtained within initial probationary period
- valid driver’s license in the state of Indiana with no more than six accrued points
- minimum of three years ALS paramedic experience
- ability to make independent clinical and operational competent decisions in a challenging environment
Job Qualifications
- valid indiana paramedic license
- minimum of three years advanced life support paramedic experience
- certified flight paramedic advanced certification within 18 months of hire
- pediatric advanced life support certification or equivalency within initial probationary period
- neonatal resuscitation program certification or equivalency within initial probationary period
- trauma certification such as ITLS or PHTLS within six months of hire
- emergency vehicle operator course certification or equivalency within initial probationary period
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 certifications within initial probationary period
- ability to make independent clinical and operational decisions
- valid indiana driver’s license with no more than six accrued points
Job Duties
- responding to emergency and non-emergency medical calls
- assessing patients and providing advanced life support care
- safely operating ambulances and medical aircraft
- communicating patient status and information to healthcare facilities
- obtaining consents and authorizations for treatment
- recording ambulance run times and managing documentation
- processing billing and daily reports
