Job Requirements
- be at least 18 years of age
- have prior lifeguarding or aquatics experience
- possess current American Red Cross Lifeguard CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
- meet additional certification requirements based on assignment and level including WSI LGI USLA Open Water
- be able to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- two years of progressively responsible experience in aquatics recreation or youth programs for coordinator i
- informal leadership or mentoring experience preferred for coordinator i
- current American Red Cross Lifeguard CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required
- Water Safety Instructor certification preferred for coordinator i and required for coordinator ii and iii
- one year experience performing duties equivalent to coordinator i or similar lead role for coordinator ii
- demonstrated ability to coordinate staff and lead daily operations for coordinator ii
- Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred for coordinator ii and required for coordinator iii
- two or more years of coordinator or lead-level aquatics experience for coordinator iii
- current USLA Open Water Lifeguard certification when assigned to beach or junior guard programs for all levels
Job Duties
- supporting daily aquatics operations including opening and closing procedures and facility readiness
- providing on-site leadership and guidance to lifeguards and instructors during assigned shifts
- assisting with staff coordination break coverage and maintaining appropriate staff-to-participant ratios
- monitoring participant and patron activity to ensure safety standards are followed
- responding to emergencies and providing first aid cpr and water rescues as needed
- serving as a point of contact for participants parents and the public during program hours
- supporting junior lifeguard swim lesson recreation swim and special event programming
