Job Requirements

  • Graduate of a paramedic training program
  • Certified as a paramedic in Texas Department of Health
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Ability to obtain audit ATLS and FP-C certification within 18 months of hire
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience as in-charge paramedic ALS 911 or MICU transport service
  • Maintains physical and mental well-being
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Physically fit to lift, bend, and twist
  • Able to perform job responsibilities in confined or differing environments
  • Fits standard aircraft seat belts without alterations
  • Able to function in aircraft cabin without physical restrictions
  • Meets weight requirements of less than 240 pounds in uniform

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of a paramedic training program
  • Certified as a paramedic in the Texas Department of Health
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
  • BTLS or PTLS preferred
  • Ability to obtain audit ATLS and FP-C certification within 18 months of hire
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience as in-charge paramedic in ALS 911 service or MICU transport service

Job Duties

  • Delivers appropriate care to patients at a competent level according to skills inventory and patient needs
  • Coordinates planning for patient treatment by the multidisciplinary team and administers clinical decisions in the delivery of care
  • Participates in development of clinical pathways and monitors performance outcomes
  • Directs healthcare team in attaining positive treatment outcomes and develops transfer plans
  • Evaluates quality of patient care and contributes to revision of standards of care
  • Assists Chief Flight Nurse with assigned projects or duties
  • Ensures safe patient care adhering to policies, procedures, and standards within budget specifications
  • Promotes professional growth by meeting mandatory education and skills competency requirements
  • Serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned
