Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completed state certified activities training program or one year programming experience with older adults
  • Valid driver's license and access to private vehicle may be required
  • Pass criminal background and fingerprint check
  • Maintain current food handler's card
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Compassion for senior population
  • Flexible schedule availability including weekends holidays and overtime
  • Positive communication skills
  • Ability to maintain safe clean environment
  • English proficiency
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Comply with state health requirements
  • Ability to work independently

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a state certified activities training program or one or more years of direct programming experience with older adults is helpful
  • Valid driver's license and access to a private vehicle for business use may be required
  • Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check
  • Maintain current food handler's card
  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications
  • Compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and overtime
  • Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents families community members volunteers and other employees
  • Ability to read write speak and understand English
  • First Aid and CPR certified
  • Meet all mandatory health requirements by state regulations
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Job Duties

  • Assist in carrying out the assigned activity programs as identified in the monthly calendar and as instructed by the Activities Director including making sure copies of the calendar are posted and available to each resident his or her families and friends
  • Provide one-to-one programming for residents who cannot participate in a group setting
  • Assist in decorating for the holidays with the help of residents and volunteers and help carry out special events
  • Coordinate with the activities director and other staff as necessary to assist residents to and from activities and events
  • Maintain equipment and supplies organize the activities storage areas in an orderly and clean manner
  • Assist in carrying out activities and events in the absence of the Activities Director
  • Assist with quarterly special events that includes residents families friends and the community at large
