Job Requirements
- Must be a certified therapeutic recreational therapist, CTRS through NCTRC
- or an Activity Director Certified, ADC through NCCAP
- or a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, COTA certified by the state
- Must have at least two years of experience in a social or recreation program within the last five years
- Preferably one year of full-time experience as a director in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Must possess the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Must have good interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Must comply with all health, sanitary, and infection control policies
Job Qualifications
- Must be a certified therapeutic recreational therapist (CTRS) through NCTRC or an Activity Director Certified (ADC) through NCCAP or a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certified by the state
- Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or related field preferred but not required
- At least two years of experience in a social or recreation program within the last five years
- Preferably one year of full-time experience as a director in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting
- CTRS experience preferred
- LTC experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Job Duties
- Plan and develop life enrichment programs tailored to residents' needs and interests
- Implement and direct overall operation of the life enrichment department
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and community policies
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' spiritual, emotional, social, physical, educational, intellectual, occupational, cultural, recreational, and psychosocial well-being
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to integrate enrichment activities within care plans
- Maintain health, sanitary, and infection control standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the administrator
