Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • three years related experience or equivalent
  • experience in a senior community setting preferred
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification
  • physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and push wheelchairs
  • ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings and weekends
  • valid driver's license for occasional driving duties
  • ability to travel locally for day activities as needed
  • compliance with organizational standards and policies

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, physical fitness, recreation therapy, art therapy, or related field or three years of related experience
  • experience working in a senior community preferred
  • basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to handle sensitive situations
  • ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English
  • current CPR and/or First Aid certification
  • ability to lift up to 35 pounds and push residents in wheelchairs

Job Duties

  • Plan and develop activities and events incorporating the seven components of wellness
  • serve as a member of management and wellness teams to identify and address resident needs
  • attend resident association meetings and support committees
  • conduct surveys to assess resident preferences
  • coordinate communication of activities through multiple channels
  • organize event calendars and coordinate vendor relations
  • recruit, train, and recognize volunteers
  • assist with public relations and develop volunteer-resident engagement opportunities
  • provide office support and maintain resident directories and records
  • oversee transportation services including scheduling and vehicle maintenance
  • demonstrate professional behavior and comply with organizational standards
  • participate in training and wellness team initiatives
  • collaborate on projects enhancing wellness programs
  • perform special projects and additional duties as assigned
